Improved content authored pages
‍A primary focus to shift content from the old site and migrate it to the newly designed site. Using feedback from users from past page use, we developed a cleaner, more easily readable page layout design that allows authors and readers to view content they search for.

Search Improvements

Mega MenuA defining challenge for the UX team and I on this project to redevelop a new navigation system that better suit the users needs. Working with a complex tree of content and levels of information we settled on a mega menu.
Recreate sites (SPO to Opti)
‍A handful of content lived inside Sharepoint Online sites within Microsoft. Collaborating with content owners and authors, I was able to recreate sites within our new Optimizely system to improve the overall experience of each site.
Inline ResultsThe search function is most widely used on the site by our users. Various inline result design variations were created to work side by side to help users quickly find the results to the answers they were looking for.

What I learned

CommunicationI proactively sought answers, stepping outside my comfort zone to ensure the entire team stayed on schedule. Slack became an invaluable tool, using it consistently to obtain swift responses and feedback on design elements.

Multi-TaskingI participated in numerous meetings, collaborating closely with developers to refine UI elements and engaging in brainstorm sessions for upcoming page components. This proved to be a valuable learning experience, teaching me the importance of adaptability and the ability to pivot seamlessly among various tasks, ensuring timely and efficient project completion.

Recognizing the need for refinement, there were instances where extra time was essential for tweaks and collaborative efforts, ensuring that the final components were polished and ready before their introduction to the live site. I worked closely with our project manager to help keep us on our timeline goal.
